The wine offered notes of red-skinned and mealy apples, for example, but also slightly smoked dates and crushed stones in its early stage yet becomes more and more stony now, with some refreshing phenolic notes. The ripeness level is just perfect, though. The loamy-gravelly soils of the Löhrer Berg give a pure, fresh and frisky Riesling with great elegance and finesse and a persistently salty and grippy-mineral finish.
